FAQ
What is the difference between a Medical Pedicure and a traditional Pedicure?
A medical pedicure offers a higher level of care, cleanliness, and safety compared to traditional spa pedicures. They are considered "dry" pedicures because the feet are not soaked in warm water, which can be a source of infection if there are any breaks in the skin. Instead, hot sterile towels may be used to soften the skin and remove calluses. A thorough examination will be conducted and personalized treatment performed, along with a relaxing reflexology foot massage. A medical pedicure is particularly helpful if you have foot problems or health conditions that affect your feet.
What happens during an appointment?
First, we will get your medical background and important health information to create your personalized pedicure plan. We will discuss your goals for treatment and talk through your appointment together. We may begin with a sterile hot towel wrap to soften calluses. We will cut your nails to a safe and appropriate length, trim cuticles, and remove calluses with sophisticated, specialized medical-grade tools and techniques. We may help address certain foot issues like athletes foot, bunions, ingrown toenails, corns, or hammertoes. We may suggest certain strategies or footwear. Finally, we will provide a relaxing reflexology massage and make sure you leave with information and knowledge to keep your feet as healthy and happy as possible.
How does a Medical Pedicure benefit?
A Medical Pedicure benefits our clients by not only giving them the peace of mind of a clean, sterile procedure, but by offering them a clinical evaluation of their specific foot ailment. When a client doesn't want to wait to see a podiatrist, but also doesn't want to risk going to a traditional pedicure establishment, Restore offers a medical-grade pedicure they can trust. Even if you don't have a foot problem, a Medical Pedicure is the best option for anyone that wants a safe, sterile pedicure from someone trained in foot care.
How do I know if I need a Medical Pedicure?
Anyone can benefit from a Medical Pedicure, but you may be especially in need of one if you can no longer manage your own foot care or suffer from a medical condition that affects your feet.
Can I put anything on my nails after the procedure?
Generally, yes. While our service does not offer nail polish, your feet and nails will be cleaned, beautiful and ready for polish when you leave. Unless we have discussed or recommended at-home care for nail fungus or other foot issues, you may apply your own nail polish after the procedure.
Do I still get charged if I am late or can’t show up to my appointment?
If you do not show up to an appointment, any prepayment will not be refunded. If you know you will not be able to make your appointment and give us at least 24 hours notice, we will reschedule your appointment or refund you.
Does insurance cover your services?
Unfortunately, insurance does not cover this service. We aim to be straightforward and will give you the complete price for our service before you get in the chair. If we recommend any of our products for at-home care, they will be an additional cost. However, our professional recommendations and continued treatment plans are all complimentary!
